CENTENARY OF ANZAC PROJECT (ANZAC PLAZA) WAS LAUNCHED Friday 25 July 2014 at the RSL .
The Launch of the Centenary Of Anzac – the Anzac Plaza Project, Emu Park was held today (July 25th 2014) at 10am. Before a good gathering of dignitaries and guests it was announced that the project is officially under way. It is all systems go.
$880,000 was pledged at the Launch by the following: Livingstone Shire Council, Qld State Government, Emu Park Bendigo Community Bank, Emu Park RSL, District RSL and Emu Park Lions Club.
This project will be provide a fitting and enduring legacy for generations to come that will commemorate and honour the service and sacrifice of men
& women during WW1
EMU Park RSL president Barry Vains has vowed to keep alive Ross Coulter’s vision.
Mr Vains said Mr Coulter had been a tireless worker, not just for the RSL, but for a number of good causes in Emu Park.
“He had a deep love of Emu Park. The whole community will miss him,” he said.
“I think the RSL will be motivated to get this project done to honour his name and there will be a determination to keep his dream alive.
“The next stage was to have been a promotional campaign toseek support from the community and we will certainly continue with that.”
